Butterfly Pea Tea is Just as Beautiful as it Sounds.
It creates a deep blue color after just seconds of steeping. I made a latte perfect for before bed that will help reduce anxiety and influence positive emotions.
The two main ingredients in this latte are butterfly pea flowers and ashwagandha powder. Both of these ingredients help to reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety. Both of these also can help promote brain function and increase concentration. Ashwagandha also helps to create a healthy hormone balance.
This recipe took me about five minutes to make and came out really good!
It also uses very few ingredients. I got both the ashwagandha and butterfly pea flowers on amazon. I used ashwagandha in capsule form and just opened it up to get the powder inside but buying it in powder form would work just as well.
First I started by boiling 1-2 cups of water and steeping it with about two tablespoons of butterfly pea flowers. Then let that steep for 10 minutes.
I then heated up the milk and added 2 capsules of ashwagandha powder or ¼ teaspoon if you don't have capsules. I also added 1 teaspoon of agave for sweetener but honey or sugar would work just as well. I used a frother to make it foamy but that is totally optional.
I also made it iced, which is the same recipe just without heating up the milk, and putting the hot tea in the refrigerator for about an hour to cool down. I personally prefer iced drinks so this is a really great way to make it if you don't like hot drinks or a way to change it for summer.
