How to Make Butterfly Pea Tea

a clear mug with blue moon tea on a white counter with a couple of Pea flowers next to the cup.

It creates a deep blue color after just seconds of steeping. I made a latte perfect for before bed that will help with relaxation and influence positive emotions.

Butterfly Pea Tea is Just as Beautiful as it Sounds.

The two main ingredients in this latte are butterfly pea flowers and ashwagandha powder. Both of these also can help promote brain function and increase concentration as well as relaxation to a racing mind.

Butterfly pea tea bag and an ashwagandha bottle of capsules.

This recipe took me about five minutes to make and came out really good!

It also uses very few ingredients. I used Herbal Roots Organic Ashwagandha and I got the butterfly pea flowers on amazon. I used ashwagandha in capsule form and just opened it up to get the powder inside but buying it in powder form would work just as well.

First I started by boiling 1-2 cups of water and steeping it with about two tablespoons of butterfly pea flowers. Then let that steep for 10 minutes.

Steep butterfly peas on a french press and leave it for 10 mins.

I then heated up the milk and added 2 capsules of ashwagandha powder or ¼ teaspoon if you don't have capsules. I also added 1 teaspoon of agave for sweetener but honey or sugar would work just as well. I used a frother to make it foamy but that is totally optional.

Pouring ashwagndha on milk

I also made it iced, which is the same recipe just without heating up the milk, and putting the hot tea in the refrigerator for about an hour to cool down. I personally prefer iced drinks so this is a really great way to make it if you don't like hot drinks or a way to change it for summer.
