Herbal Lavender Almond Milk

This lavender almond milk is an amazing way to start or end your day because of the calming properties of lavender. This dreamy, pastel-hued beverage is more than just beautiful—it’s a gentle tonic for the nervous system and a delicious way to nourish your body. Infused with the floral notes of dried lavender and colored naturally with butterfly pea and hibiscus flowers, this recipe transforms simple almond milk into a calming, antioxidant-rich elixir that supports both body and mind.

Lavender is well-known for its soothing properties, traditionally used to promote restful sleep and a calm body. When steeped into almond milk, it brings a subtle floral aroma that’s both refreshing and grounding. To achieve that signature soft purple hue, we call on the magic of butterfly pea flowers and hibiscus—two herbs that not only create a beautiful color when blended but also contribute their own wellness benefits.

Butterfly pea flower is revered in herbal medicine for its antioxidant and cognitive-boosting effects, while hibiscus is rich in vitamin C and supports heart health by helping to regulate blood pressure. Together, they create a visually stunning lavender color without any artificial dyes. This blend of herbs and plant-based milk is the perfect example of how beauty, flavor, and wellness can come together in one simple homemade recipe.
This recipe starts by soaking almonds in hot water to soften, along with lavender, butterfly pea and hibiscus flowers. Allow all the ingredients to steep for about 15 minutes before blending. The water will start to have a beautiful purple-blue hue.

Once 15 minutes have passed, add all ingredients into a blender along with more water and dates for sweetness, on high for a couple of minutes until completely blended.
Strain this mixture through a nut bag or cheesecloth to separate the pulp from the liquids.

Once it is strained, it is ready to be enjoyed! Keep this in the refrigerator and it will stay good for about a week (if it even lasts that long!) Because this drink doesn’t contain any preservatives like most store-bought non-dairy milks, expect it to separate. But no worries, with just a shake, it will be back to normal.
This tastes amazing on its own as a calming drink before bed, but I also love this lavender almond milk with matcha in the morning!
