Yes. We started in 2017 as Mortar and Pestle Herbs. In 2020 we changed our name to Herbal Roots. We are the same owners.

Our home base is in Los Angeles, California.

We are currently in the process of obtaining our organic certification on all of our supplements. Some of our supplements have already been approved for this certification. Some of our herbs are in the process of getting certified.

The biggest and most important difference with Herbal Roots supplements and other brands is ours are 100% pure. Meaning we do NOT add fillers, binders, sugars, or other ingredients that don't need to be in a supplement.

Yes. Our supplements are manufactured in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certified facility. 

Korean Ginseng, Ashwagandha, Mushrooms and Cranberry are herbal supplements known to help promote an increase of energy.

We source our whole herbs from several different countries. For example, our Ginger is from Peru, and our Ceylon Cinnamon is from Sri Lanka.

We also source from the U.S., Poland, Spain, India, Ukraine, Latvia, Russia and China.

You may ask why would we want to source herbs from China?

Asia, specifically China is a HUGE part of the Organic herb supply chain. This is partly due to the climate, but also due to cost of production and globalization of the supply chain. Some herbs and raw materials may not be readily available otherwise. Like all countries of the world, China has some great companies and sources, and some terrible ones too. Since this is not inherent to a country and more the company/source, the way Herbal Roots deciphers good sources from bad are through our rigorous vendor qualification program. done through our supplier. All vendors must complete a vendor audit, and supply the necessary information to confirm several KPIs (quality, documentation, certifications, valid business details, etc).

Herbal products such as supplements, teas, tinctures, powders, etc do not work the same for everyone.

Each person's body chemistry is unique therefore there isn't one single herb that will work for all bodies.

An example of this is valerian. For most, valerian has a sedative effect and will aid in restful sleep but for some it actually acts as a stimulant and can give someone energy.

The awesome thing about herbs is there are several that have similar benefits so if one doesn't seem to work for you, you can find another with similar benefits and see if that one works better with your body.

Here are a few tips to ensure you are getting the maximum benefits from an herb:

1. It can take time for an herb to do what it needs to do in your body so it is important to take it consistently and for several weeks before you give up on it.

2. Take the recommended dose on the back of the label.

3. Some herbs do interact with each other or with medication. Make sure that the herb(s) that you have decided to take do not have any interactions with anything else you are supplementing.

We ship all US orders through the United States Post Office. Depending on the size of your order, it will be shipped either First Class or Priority mail. Average shipping times are 3-5 business days. This does not factor in Federal holidays or weather, which can cause shipping delays.

Our cut off for shipping each day is around 11am PST. If you place an order after 11am PST Monday through Friday, your package will go out the next business day. We do not ship on Saturdays or Sundays. If you place an order Friday afternoon, your package will be shipped out Monday morning unless that Monday is a Federal holiday, then your package will ship out on Tuesday.

We currently do not ship internationally.

Levels of chemical constituents vary quite naturally in herb harvests. Constituents are affected by growing conditions such as soil, weather, and altitude and by factors such as age of the plant, when it was harvested and where the seed came from. This means that each batch of an herbal supplement will be slightly different. This can account for things like variation in color of the supplement from batch to batch.

We understand that many of our customers may be taking prescription or over-the-counter medications. Because dietary/herbal supplements are intended only to support health and do not prevent or treat diseases, we cannot advise on taking our products along with medications. We strongly recommend that you consult with your healthcare practitioner before starting any new supplement or product, especially if you are currently taking medications, have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are under medical supervision.Your healthcare provider can help you determine what is safe and appropriate for your specific needs.

Yes. At Herbal Roots, 3rd party testing is done on every batch of every one of our products for both identity and for heavy metals.

All of our certified organic dry supplements use organic Pullulan Capsules:

NOP Certified Organic Pullulan 84-88%

Purified Water 11.9-15.9%

Semi-refined seaweed extract ~ 0.1%

Certified organic carnauba polishing wax < 0.01%

All of our non-certified organic dry supplements use capsules made of vegetable cellulose derived from pine trees.

Our gelcaps (for our liquid supplements) are made of bovine gelatin.

Our supplements are free of gluten-containing ingredients, soy, dairy and wheat.  Our facility does have very few materials that contain gluten that is used to make other products, but they are stored in an isolated area of the warehouse. Any equipment that comes into contact with them are fully washed, sanitized, ATP tested, and swabbed for allergen proteins before receiving clearance from Quality Control to begin the next product.
